Multi-connection IP codec
A 1RU codec for the studio, the Merlin Plus manages multiple simultaneous connections. Up to six simultaneous can be made (bidirectional, mono). The Merlin Plus will connect to all Tieline IP codecs via public WAN, private LAN, 3G and 4G wireless networks and Wi-Fi and WiMAX Networks. It has dual gigabit (10/100/1000) onboard Ethernet ports, dual redundant power supplies, audio silence detection and IP network backup to ensure reliable connections. Automated network failure detection provides switching to a backup IP LAN connection. SmartStream provides automated jitter buffer management, forward error correction (FEC) and error concealment. The Merlin Plus supports IPv4 and IPv6 protocols. It can communicate with linear PCM, Apt-x Enhanced, LC-AAC, HE-AAC v1 and v2, Opus, MPEG II, MPEG Layer-3, Tieline Music and MusicPLUS, G.722 and G.711 algorithms.
