TFT Model 3320
CAP-to-EAS converter
The CAP-to-EAS converter continuously monitors a Common Alerting Protocol source to seek new emergency messages and generates an EAS protocol output for connection to existing FCC type certified EAS encoder/decoders. The unit actively polls a CAP server every few seconds for new emergency messages. Additionally the unit can activate based on a CAP message from any type of CAP 1.2 IPAWS-compliant source using Simple Object Access Protocol. The unit connects to the Internet via an RJ-45 jack and has a high-level audio output for connection to an EAS encoder/decoder. The unit switches to an alternate server in the event of primary server failure and sends feedback of its status to the CAP server.
