Montreaux Jazz Uses Zephyr Xstream

Montreaux, Switzerland
– The colorful sounds eminating from the Montreaux Jazz
Festival were enjoyed by more ears than usual this year with the help
of the Telos Zephyr Xstream. Six of the highest rated stations in
Switzerland joined together to retransmit a daily half-hour program
with interviews and some songs of the concerts.
The Zephyr Xstream uses the MPEG2 AAC/MPEG4 AAC low delay encoding
algorithm. It is the first codec to implement this method. The low
delay AAC mode offers quality equivalent to Layer 3 with about 75% less
delay (less than 60mS).
The Zephyr Xstream received a BE Radio Pick Hit award at
NAB2001.
