Drawing on the original R-121 studio ribbon microphone, the 15th Anniversary R-121 limited edition mic features high SPL capabilities; no internal active electronics to overload or produce distortion up to maximum SPL rating; extremely low residual noise; the ribbon element is not affected by heat or humidity; no high frequency phase distortion; equal sensitivity from front or back of element; consistent frequency response regardless of distance; electrodynamic pressure gradient acoustic operating principle; figure-8 polar pattern; 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon generating element; Rare Earth Neodymium magnets; and 30-15kHz frequency response +/-3dB.
