Tieline Adds Enhanced Apt-X, IP Multicasting to Bridge-IT
Indianapolis - Nov 25, 2010 - Tieline Technology has added Enhanced Apt-x audio coding and IP multicasting in the latest software release v.1.06.00. "Multicasting is an inexpensive way to send unlimited codec audio streams from a single codec across IP networks that support multicasting and distribute program audio to STL transmitter sites, between studios or to affiliates," said Darren Levy, international marketing manager for Tieline Technology.
Bridge-IT multicasting supports Enhanced Apt-x, AAC, MPEG Layer 2, Tieline Music and MusicPLUS, G711, G.722 and PCM streaming.
Both multicasting/multiple-unicasting and Apt-x are offered as license options in addition to the AAC algorithm suite. Existing Tieline Bridge-IT owners can contact Tieline at sales@tieline.com or their local dealer to upgrade their codec to include these new features. Eligible Bridge-IT Pro customers can download the new firmware from the Tielinecodec firmware page.
The Tieline Bridge-IT received a Radio magazine Pick Hit award at the 2009 NAB Show.
