DC power backup system
Optim Engineering's PWRgate PG40s is a 12V backup power system that can supply up to 40 amperes continuously from either a power supply or a battery. The equipment powered by the PWRgate instantly switches to battery during a loss of ac power or power supply failure without glitches using 80 ampere Schottky diodes that isolate the battery from the power supply with low voltage drop. It also has a built-in high-performance battery charger circuit that correctly and safely charges the battery. The built-in four-stage battery charger has selectable maximum charge rates of 1, 4, 7 or 10 amperes.
