L-com Global Connectivity ALW-CAT5HPJ, ALW-CAT5EJ, ALW-CAT6HPJ
Lighting surge protectors
These lightning and surge protectors are for indoor (ALW-CAT6HPJ indoor only) and outdoor 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks. They are compatible with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices, providing protection to Ethernet data pairs and PoE dc power feeds. The protectors feature industrial grade die cast aluminum enclosures with gasketed covers and concealed mounting holes. ALW-CAT5HPJ has a large power rating and failsafe architecture. In the event of a catastrophic surge event, series resistors will fuse and shunt diodes will short, safely disconnecting the line from the datacom equipment. ALW-CAT6HPJ features low line-to-line and line-to-ground capacitance to minimize distortion of high-speed signals. It also isolates the cable shield from the safety ground. This minimizes the chance of a ground loop being introduced.
