Holiday Gift Idea: DAB+ and Internet Radio Receiver
London - Dec 12, 2007 - Frontier Silicon and Revo are touting to be the world's first radio to combine DAB/DAB+ and Wi-fi. The unit is called the Blik Radiostation, and it is built around Frontier Silicon's Venice 6 multistandard module.
The companies note that more than 6.5 million DAB units have shipped worldwide, with 80 percent of them sold in the UK alone. World DMB reports that with the introduction of DAB+ that many new countries are looking to roll out DAB+ digital radio services, including Australia (which officially launches in January 2009), Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Malta, Israel, Hungary, Kuwait, Malaysia and New Zealand.
