Barix Real-Time Clock (RTC)

Reference clock
This product-agnostic, self-sustaining reference clock plugs into any device with an RS-232 serial port. The Real-Time Clock (RTC) maintains time for year, even when unpowered. This allows the RTC to provide time information immediately after a device startup, independent of a network-based time reference. The product was designed to address the issue of failed network time connections after a power outage. Having the stand-alone time reference allows devices with time events to stay in their schedules until the time reference is restored. Examples include syndicated programs with local network IDs, jingles, ads and promos that can still be triggered on schedule.
