tegrating a broadcast site into an overall facility control system. Recent
ly\, new systems and capabilities have become available that allow broadca
sters to extend their facility control beyond the normal connection of tra
nsmitters\, antenna switches\, and other traditional equipment. Some of th
ese technologies use advanced communication techniques such as IP networki
ng\, SNMP protocols and wireless linking. Other techniques involve creativ
e use of older communications protocols such as serial connections. At thi
s session\, Tony Peterle will outline the various alternatives available f
or broadcasters seeking to implement an integrated control system. Josh Ha
dden and Paul Shulins will then discuss their own experiences in construct
ing and configuring broadcast sites (transmitter and studios) with a high
degree of systems integration. These control plans go beyond the usual bro
	adcast equipment to include HVAC\, security\, elevator control\, servers\,
firewalls and more. The session will discuss the advantages and cost savi
ngs that this type of integration can bring to broadcasters in all market
