ri">Cloud computing is the use of shared computing resources that are most
ly assumed to be located outside of your physical plant. Cloud computing s
ervices provide common business applications via networked connections whi
le all the software and data are stored on servers that are maintained and
controlled by a third party and offers an alternative to expensive storag
e of archives on-site and along with biometrics\, assists in transferring
a great deal of computerized processes off-site. Standard users in a broad
cast station do not need knowledge or expertise in controlling the cloud t
hat supports them\; they only need to know how to use the specific applica
tions. How can this benefit broadcast stations? It is important for broadc
ast engineers to have at least some expertise so they can decide if cloud
computing is best for their operation\, or decide how best to maximize the
ir use of cloud computing. This paper will examine cloud computing as it i
s used today\, it benefits and pitfalls\, and then how cloud computing can
benefit broadcasters and broadcast engineers.&lt\;br&gt\;Presenter: Andre
