Glensound Electronics GSnake 400M
Bi-directional audio snake
This digital audio snake was developed using the link technology as used in the GDC 6432 digital commentary system. The system comprises two units: a 2RU base station and a 2RU free-standing or stackable stage box. Three links are available with 24-bit/48kHz performance. The coaxial cable link allows a distance between units of 400 metersand also carries the power to the stage box. The copper Ethernet has a 100m range and also carries power to the stage box using a version of PoE. With the fibre link the two units can be several kilometers apart with the stagebox being powered locally. Analog and AES3 send and return modules are available. Word clock connections are on both units. The base station has an input for syncing to a master clock.
