SMPTE, EBU Organize Forum on Future Direction of Electronic Media
Geneva, Switzerland - Mar 6, 2012 - EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre and many distinguished futurologists from companies such as Warner Brothers, Sony, NHK, Cisco, BSkyB, ATSC, Ericsson, Singapore Media Authority, Technicolor, VRT, the EBU and IBM will take part in SMPTE's Forum on Emerging Technologies, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 14 and 15, 2012. The EBU is also taking part in the show's organization.
The purpose of the forum is to examine the forces that will shape our media world in five, 10 and 15 years. The forum will take an interdisciplinary look, without technical jargon, at trends in program content, technology, and economics. It will try to understand where we will be, and what we need to do, to be in the right place at the right time.
