More Automakers Embrace HD Radio
Dallas - Sep 19, 2012 - The 2012 Radio Show is the site of iBiquity's rally to show expanded support for HD Radio from a wide array of leading automakers. With the initial HD Radio rollout with its original features established, many automakers are now focused on launching HD Radio advanced features like iTunes tagging, ArtistExperience and Digital Traffic and Data.
ITunes tagging is now available in more than 20 automotive brands that have either already launched or will soon launch the feature. Artist Experience, which brings visuals such as album cover art toradio screens, is now offered by VW, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Other OEM brands are planning to add the Artist Experience feature soon. Car manufacturers are also focusing on the new Digital Traffic and Data services offered through HD Radio broadcasts, with multiple automakers supporting these new features and services.
Several car makers are expanding their commitment to the digital dashboard by including HD Radio: Acura, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Porsche, Ram, Rolls Royce, Scion, SRT (Chrysler), Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo have all extended their commitments to the technology with new announcements, a mix of new vehicle launches, broader application, new services and standardization.
Six new vehicles equipped with factory-installed HD Radio receivers will be on display at the HD Radio booth at the 2012 Radio Show in Dallas, TX. Vehicles on display include the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, 2013 Cadillac XTS, 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2013 Lincoln MKS, 2013 Toyota Camry and 2013 Kia Soul.
