Manchester, UK, Adds Additional DAB Multiplex Transmitter

Manchester, UK - Jul 4, 2012 - A new DAB multiplex transmitter was put on the air giving about 250,000 people (90 percent of Manchester's population) reception of 42 digital stations. These channels include Key 103, BBC Radio Manchester, BBC's digital music and sports stations, Heart, Absolute Radio 80s, Kiss, Jazz FM and Planet Rock. About 72 miles of roads in and around Manchester are covered by this new multiplex as well.

The transmitter was switched on by Key 103's morning show (Mike and Chelsea) along with Gary Stein of the station, and Ford Ennals, the CEO of Digital Radio U.K.
