WHUR-World Wins 2011 HD Radio Multicast Award
Washington - Aug 16, 2011 - The NAB has announced the winner of the 5th annual NAB HD Radio Multicast Award: Howard University's 96.3-HD2 WHUR-World. The award will be presented at the 2011 Radio Show in Chicago.
The station's programming includes jazz, rhythm and blues, hip hop, blues and African-American folk music, along with documentary programming.
Winners of the NAB HD Radio Multicast Award are recognized for their ability to create innovative or groundbreaking programming on their multicast channels. Past winners include KBCO-FM, WRIF-FM, WAMU-FM and WSTW-FM. WHUR-World won previously, in 2008.
The HD Radio Multicast Award will be presented during the Super Session "The Road Ahead: Entertainment and Information in the Car" on Sept. 15.
