iBiquity Exhibits at Radiodays Europe
Berlin - Mar 18, 2013 - IBiquity Digital is attending at the Radiodays Europe annual radio conference for leaders from public service, commercial radio and related industries. The HD Radio team will be located in B15 and plan on discussing the latest advances and features introduced over the past year.
More than 30 automotive brands currently offer or have announced plans to offer HD Radio audio, traffic or data features. Many automakers have adopted HD Radio audio and related features, such as Artist Experience; specifically, Toyota, Lexus and Mitsubishi are planning to use the digital broadcasts to provide consumers traffic and other relevant data.
Active Alerts is the newest HD Radio feature that works in conjunction with Emergency Alert Services. It provides extended audio and text-based information alerting the public to weather, disaster, and other incident information.
HD Radio continues progress outside of the USA with the technology rolling out internationally. HD Radio broadcasting has made rapid advances in Mexico since its approval by the government as the national voluntary digital radio standard on June 16, 2011. There are now 36 FM and AM stations on the air in the country, reaching 33.6 million potential listeners (29 percent of the national population). Many more stations are now in the planning stages.
