West Berlin, NJ - Dec 9, 2009 - Day Sequerra provided its Downmix, Upmix and NLC5.1ST products featuring DTS technologies for Colorado Public Radio's live HD Radio broadcast of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra's concert featuring world-renown cellist, Yo-Yo Ma.

The CSO performed three Dvorak pieces including the Othello Overture. After the short intermission, Yo-Yo Ma performed Dvorak's well-known Cello Concerto in B minor. The sold-out Dec. 2, 2009 performance was encoded in DTS Neural Surround and broadcast live from Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, CO. This special 360-degree surround venue designed to place the audience close to the stage while maintaining traditional symphonic sound quality.

Using Day Sequerra Downmix surround encoder allowed Colorado Public Radio to transport the 5.1 surround broadcast through its existing stereo infrastructure using the DTS Neural Surround process. The event was recorded in discrete PCM as well as high-bit-rate DSD using prototype Neumann KM133D microphones; a vintage Neumann U67 was used to spotlight Yo-Yo Ma's performance. Pappas' team used a Digico DS00 control surface and Avalon Acoustics studio monitors powered by 1KW Jeff Rowland monoblock amplifiers.
