DRM+ Demos at IFA
Later this week, consumer techies across Europe will swarm the aisles at IFA 2010 - a distinctly continental variant on the massive U.S. Consumer Electronics Show. Surrounded by a sea of audio electronica, IFA attendees will get their first chance to experience broadcasts of 5.1 surround sound and text information services delivered via a VHF DRM+ digital air chain.
Coding of the audio surround demo broadcast is being provided courtesy of Fraunhofer's DRM ContentServer with support from RF Mondial, University of Hannover and Niedersaechsische Landesmedienanstalt. Fraunhofer will demonstrate its Journaline text application as well.
Transmitter manufacturer Nautel will also promote its DRM+-capable NV Series transmitters.
IFA runs Sept. 3 though Sept. 8 at Messe Berlin in Berlin, Germany.
