DRM Annual Assembly Tilts Toward Asia
Asia was foremost on the minds of delegates attending Digital Radio Mondiale's (DRM) 23rd annual consortium assembly on March 9 in Kuala Lempur, Malaysia.
According to a consortium press release, topics of discussion at the conference included the pending rollout of DRM across India and Russia, both of which have made a major commitment to DRM 30 for use on MW and HF bands. Progress on DRM+ was also reviewed, with special attention given to a positive technology assessment issued by the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), last year's trial in Malaysia, and an ongoing trial in Edinburgh, Scotland.
New members attending the meeting included Frontier Silicon, Silicon Laboratories, and KETI (above).
Among the news generated at the assembly was an announcement that a special presentation of data and findings derived from the current DRM+ trail has been scheduled for March 29 in Edinburgh.
