The promise and pitfalls of digital radio will be under discussion by participants from more than 25 countries at the new Radiodays Europe conference slated for March 18 - 19 in Copenhagen. With 30 sessions on the schedule, commercial and public broadcasters will be able to focus on a variety of topics encompassing strategy, content, distribution and business models in a shifting digital audio media environment.

Among the featured events:

  • Speakers from handset manufacturers Nokia and Ericsson will join broadcasters in a discussion of radio's future distribution prospects via mobile broadband devices.
  • Author Marko Ala-Fossi from Finland will discuss his new book on the importance of a unified European platform for Radio.
  • Consideration of a digital roadmap for European radio by DMB World Forum Chair Jørn Jensen joined by representatives from the BBC, Italy's RTL Group and Germany's Regiocast.
  • A session devoted exclusively to new economic challenges and opportunities facing European commercial radio in the digital era
