DB Digital Broadcasting DAB Trial Begins in Dublin
Dublin - Jul 11, 2012 - The DB Digital Broadcasting DAB trial has started in Dublin (with Cork and Limerick to follow soon). The broadcast is being sent via the multiplex on Channel 12A (223.936MHz).
The trials have three goals. First, to test the signal strength, antennas, indoor and outdoor reception, and to compare results between DAB and DAB+. Second, to test text and pictures on receivers including DLS, DL+, EPG, Slideshow, RadioTAG and other new technologies. And finally, content; in addition to simulcasting a number of existing stations, DB is gauging reactions to a number of new DAB exclusive formats.
