DAB+ Continues Gaining Traction in Australia
Sydney - Aug 9, 2013 - DAB+ radio receivers continue to sell well, according to Commercial Radio Australia. 68,417 DAB+ receivers were sold during 2Q2013, bringing the total number sold since the 2009 launch of the service to 1,318,596. (CRA refers to the 2Q2013 report from GfK Marketscope.)
Other research cited indicates that on a weekly basis more than 1.6 million people, accounting for 12.6 percent of the radio listening in the five capital cities, listen to radio via a DAB+ device. TSL for DAB+ radio is more than double that of Internet radio.
