BBC To Add DAB Station for London Olympics
London - Aug 15, 2011 - The BBC Trust announced that a pop-up digital station will be placed on the air for a three-week period during the 2012 London Olympics. The DAB service will be known as BBC 5 Olympics Extra, and it will operate in conjunction with 5 Live and 5 Live Sports Extra. The BBC plans to offer 1,000 hours of live online video coverage, which will not otherwise be shown on TV.
