IDT Impact Development
Digital Encoder Plus: A digital stereo encoder, the DEP benefits from IDT's APC concept, which optimizes clipping, increases loudness and assures total elimination of overshoots, all with no distortion. Moreover, the DEP is designed to be a host structure and will evolve with new plug-ins and software upgrades. The DEP is the fruit of the association of the R&D teams from IDT and Audemat. Features include AGC and a limiter. The DEP is MPX guard ready and has an optional RDS encoder with a full DARC/ETSI standard; layer 2, 3, 4 with mobiDARC application.

BD960: This unit replaces the earlier BD941/942 units, provides a delay and replaces objectionable words with a station's own zapper of up to 8 seconds of audio, which is stored in nonvolatile memory (NVRAM). In addition to the new recording feature, the BD960 sports improvements in several areas, notably audio quality (full 24-bit/48KHz sampling) and convenience features such as a universal (100-240V) power supply and remote control capabilities.

LCD exciter enhancement
AES/EBU input module: This optional AES/EBU input module has been added to Armstrong's CD-quality LCD exciter line. The modular approach allows a quick field retrofit of the exciter, giving stations a cost effective way to evolve from the analog to the digital arena. Stations can start with an analog LCD exciter, which includes the standard multiplex, mono and SCA inputs. When a station wishes to upgrade to digital, it can purchase the AES/EBU input module to complete the digital air chain. LCD exciters can be ordered digital ready with the AES/EBU module for immediate digital interface capability.

Solution-D family: Owing to a new A/D conversion process, a specially developed synchronization method, and remote control of typical microphone parameters and mixing console functions, Solution-D is the first product in the Solution-D digital microphone family. It consists of three components: the digital microphone D-01, the digital microphone interface DMI-2, and the software that permits operation and remote control of the microphone. The system conforms to the new Standard AES 42-2001.

BPM series: Bird's broadcast power monitor products comprise several true average-responding sensors that attach to a multi-function power meter or directly to a personal computer (PC) via an RS-232 cable. True average responses with a minimum of 10dB operating headroom means that power indications are stable and accurate for all digitally-modulated signals having high peak-to-average ratio. Unique to the BPM sensors are additional alarm functions that attach to an external alarm panel to signal an operator in the event of an antenna/feeder malfunction. The alarm operates for zero forward power, high VSWR, and high forward power.
