WYPR Ups HD Radio Signal with Continental
Dallas - May 24, 2011 - WYPR in Baltimore has started broadcasting IBOC at the -10dBc level thanks to modifications to their 816HD transmitter completed by personnel of Continental Electronics. WYPR's Chief Engineer Ray Hepner originally installed the particular transmitter in September 2007, and turned on IBOC in March 2008 at the -20dBc level.
HD2 and HD3 streams followed in January of last year. It is anticipated that the recent increase in power of the digital signals will allow their coverage to approximate that of WYPR's analog transmissions.
