WSTW Takes NAB Top HD Multicast Honors
Delmarva Broadcasting's WSTW HD-2 channel, better known as Graffiti Radio, has taken top honors from the NAB in its annual HD Multicast competition. The contest was designed by the NAB to recognize FM HD Radio broadcasters who "create innovative or groundbreaking programming on their multicast channel." Previous award recipients include KBCO-FM Denver's The Studio C Channel, WRIF-FM Detroit's Riff2, WHUR-WORLD, an extension of Howard University's WHUR-FM, and WAMU-FM for its Bluegrass Country station, 88.5-2.
Originating from the studios of WSTW in Wilmington, Graffiti Radio's format is described as a unique mix of indie rock, funk, synth pop and hip-hop that features an interactive website with message board and DJ blogs, as well as daily updates on Facebook and Twitter. The station also streams continuously at GraffitiRadio.com.
The award will be presented during the Radio Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 1, during the 2010 Radio Show produced by the NAB and the RAB in Washington, DC.
