WideOrbit Appoints Kumar as VP of Engineering

San Francisco - Jun 2, 2011 - WideOrbit has appointed appointment Vijay Kumar as vice president of engineering. Based in San Francisco, Kumar will lead WideOrbit's San Francisco-based engineering teams and focus on business analytics and yield optimization. Kumar will join the executive management team at WideOrbit and will report directly to Will Offeman who is being promoted to executive vice president of engineering.

Kumar is a technology executive with more than 25 years of software development and leadership experience. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of engineering at Vendavo in Palo Alto, CA, where he led the engineering team since the company's inception for more than 10 years. Under his leadership, the company built a strong suite of price management products and became the enterprise pricing solution of choice for more than 160 customer divisions at some of the world's largest companies. Prior to joining Vendavo, Vijay spent nine years at Borland International in Scotts Valley, CA, where he began as an architect on the Borland Database Engine team and grew to become director of development for its Enterprise Technology team before being appointed director of the Enterprise Integration Products division where he managed development, maintenance and QA.
