Madison, WI - Mar 5, 2012 - As part of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and WBA Foundation long-range plan to broaden the pool of prospective broadcast engineers, Michelle Vetterkind, president and CEO of the WBA, shared a written proposal by former Wisconsin ABIP inspector, broadcast engineering educator Terry Baun to integrate three days of broadcast engineering classroom training around the WBA Summer Conference each year (with the fourth day to be combined with the association's current Engineering Workshop and Exhibits, which annually take place at the summer event. The classroom training would be flexible, made up of 13 different modules, which can be modified as technology advances. The program has been adopted and called the WBA Media Technology Institute. The effort is underwritten by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Midwest Communications

Baun has drafted a three-day curriculum to also include the one-day engineering workshop, which already takes place at the summer conference. Attendance is limited to 30 people. The cost is $399 per person, which includes room, board and materials and include the one-day Engineers Workshop.
