Senate Bill S.2881 Clears Senate Committee
Washington - Mar 24, 2010 - The Senate bill introduced by Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) titled The FCC Commissioners' Technical Resource Enhancement Act has cleared the Senate Committee on Science, Commerce and Transportation. Only one change was made to the bill to include provisions of Senate bill S.3042, a bill also introduced by Sen. Snowe. S.3042 provides for a study by the National Academy of Sciences on the technical policy decisions and technical personnel at the Federal Communications Commission. The bill moves back to the Senate.
The bill's basic purpose is to provide greater technical resources to FCC Commissioners. A companion bill was introduced in the House of Representatives by Jerry McNerney (D-CA).
