Las Vegas - Mar 16, 2010 - The Society of Broadcast Engineers is the National Association of Broadcasters' production partner for the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference (BEC), which runs from April 10 through April 15, 2010 at the NAB Show. The NAB BEC includes dozens of broadcast technical sessions for radio and television engineers.

The SBE has a full schedule of meetings and events during the week, with booth hours beginning Sunday afternoon and then daily through Thursday. The SBE's booth will be on the second floor concourse of the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall, Lobby Booth 29. Booth hours start Sunday at 2 p.m. (open until 4 p.m.); and reopen Monday through Wednesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday the booth will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The SBE will sell SBE-published books and many broadcast technical books from major publishers. There will also be an assortment of SBE logo items. SBE Membership renewals and new memberships may also be transacted at the booth. SBE staff and national board members will be at the booth to talk to attendees about membership, certification, educational programs and regulatory issues. Information will also be available on the new SBE certification practice test software, CertPreview.

The annual spring SBE membership meeting will be held on April 13 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in room S228 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Highlights of the meeting will include the presentation of the SBE Lifetime Achievement Award. The meeting will also recognize 17 local SBE chapter certification chairmen during the meeting. The meeting will also include prize giveaways. The first 100 members in attendance will receive a free pocket-size combination level and screwdriver.

The SBE will hold several other meetings during the 2010 NAB Show. Some committee meetings have closed portions for specific business.
