Sam Lane of RF Specialties Dies

Santa Barbara, CA - Feb 23, 2009 - The RF Specialties Group was saddened to learn of the death of Sam Lane, owner of RF Specialties of California and co‐owner of RF Specialties of Washington. Lane died at his home in Santa Barbara, CA, on Feb. 19, 2009, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Lane had a long career in sales and marketing at RCA, Cetec, Harris, and Magnasync/Moviola, prior to becoming a principal member of the RF Specialties Group in 1984. In 1998 he partnered with Bill Newbrough in the purchase of RF Specialties of Washington. Lane was well respected in the broadcast industry by customers and vendors alike for his no‐nonsense approach to business.

Lane held a BS degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, held an MBA degree from California State University in Los Angeles, and was a Registered Professional Engineer in California. He was also a director and treasurer of the RF Specialties Group.

RF Specialties of California will continue on under the management of Bill Newbrough, who is also president of RF Specialties of Washington.
