■ Donze Communications' KBDZ-FM/KSGM-AM (Chester, IL) purchased an Air-4 console though RF Specialties of Missouri.
■ Sirius XM Radio purchased an Air-1 console through BSW.
■ Salt Lake Community College (Salt Lake City, UT) purchased two IP-12 console systems.
■ Greenwood Broadcasting (Greenwood, SC) purchased two IP-12 console systems and two WheatNet-IP Blades.
■ WIFM-FM (Elkin, NC) purchased an R-55e radio console through BSW.
■ Media Engineering of Switzerland purchased an IP-12 console system for a project in Malta.
■ RCN Radio Networks of Columbia purchased two R-55e consoles.
■ Community Radio (South Africa) purchased an X-12 console through Soundfusion Media.
Several college radio stations have added the Zipwhip cloud messaging platform to interact with listeners. The Zipwhip texting application lets businesses text enable existing landline and toll-free numbers to send and receive text messages from any device. The stations include WBRU-FM at Brown University, Providence, RI; WDMB-FM at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI; and WHUS-FM at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT.
The Dallas radio stations of Cumulus Media have selected WideOrbit WO Mobile, WideOrbit's mobile campaign platform, to help drive listenership and engage their audiences throughout the broadcast day with exclusive, targeted content including breaking news, sports and concert information, contests, polls, and interactive campaigns during local live events. WO Mobile is also driving new revenue for the stations by providing sponsorship opportunities to their advertisers for the mobile content.
KNAU-FM at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff bought three 24-position Axia Element consoles with Axia StudioEngine mixing engines, plus 20 Analog, AES/EBU and Microphone xNodes for a complete studio rebuild.
Marketron announced a partnership with Post-Newsweek for its TV stations to use mSite, a custom drag-and-drop mobile website developer, which allows clients to develop a brand storefront with customized mobile websites as part of integrated campaigns. The company will also use Marketron Mobile's messaging system by reselling the platform to local advertisers to drive ancillary revenues for key stations. Additionally, mSite is integrated within Marketron's Mobile Platform, which allows users to access real-time performance through Insight data and analytics. The Post-Newsweek deal is Marketron's first partnership in TV.
