Clear Channel Media and Entertainment's iHeartRadio digital radio service has been downloaded more than 135 million times. Since its launch in September 2011 at the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Festival, iHeartRadio has exceeded more than 20 million registered users. Registered users are only a percentage of iHeartRadio's overall listeners, since registration is only required for the Custom Station feature.
KLJY-FM (99.1 JOY FM), a Christian music station serving St. Louis, installed a new Harris HPX tube transmitter. The transmitter was chosen for its output power and operating efficiencies.
Just ahead of Hurricane Sandy and again a week before the presidential election, Wheatstone commissioned a WheatNet-IP router with IP-12 consoles at FEMA's Media Center, and at the White House Communications Agency located at the Dwight D. Eisenhower office building adjacent to the White House. The White House Communications Agency is using the Wheatstone system in a new HD TV control room for producing presidential related communications. FEMA's Media Center, a short jaunt from the White House, is using a similar Wheatstone system for several studios and a briefing room. Both installations were put to good use during Sandy and the presidential election that followed.
Rogers Media has selectedWideOrbit WO Automation for Radio for its 55 radio stations that span 29 markets across Canada.
Texas-based Tejas Broadcasting's 15 stations in Corpus Christi and Amarillo, TX, and Houma and New Orleans, LA are the latest of 34 new stations to add vCreative PPO to manage continuity and production workflow. Minnesota's Q Media Group and Louisiana's Delta Media Corp. are also each implementing PPO company-wide, while Townsquare Media adds a fifth market (Missoula, MT) to its PPO stations, and Great Eastern Radio expands its usage to include all its stations.
Digital Alert Systems has supplied DASDEC-II emergency messaging platforms to enable radio stations across Anguilla, Aruba, Montserrat and Sint Maarten to provide their communities with timely emergency alerts. These next-generation DASDEC-II broadcast alert systems allow stations to supply the public with critical warnings and instructions in case of weather or other emergencies. The multinational project was made possible through a contract awarded by the United Nations Development Project (UNDP).
