Nautel has been chosen by Clear Channel as the transmitter vendor for a pending transmitter site rebuild project at the Empire State Building. WLTW (currently on floor 81) and WWPR (currently on floor 82) will both move to floor 83 where the CC transmitters for WHTZ (Z100) WAXQ (Q104.3) and WKTU are already located. After the move WLTW (Lite-FM) and WWPR (Power 105.1) will begin transmitting HD Radio at the -14dBc level using new Nautel NV20s.
The six Journal Broadcast Group stations in Wichita, KS, (KLIO-AM, KFDI-FM, KICT-FM, KYQQ-FM, KFXJ-FM and KFTI-FM) join the five Journal Broadcast Group stations in Omaha, NE, on the vCreative Paperless Production Order (PPO) system.
Gaylord Entertainment's WSM, home of the Grand Ole Opry, has purchased Axia Audio consoles and IP-audio networking equipment to outfit its Nashville studios. The purchase, made through Broadcasters General Store includes 20- and 28-position Element 2.0 mixing consoles with PowerStation integrated console engines, plus multiple Axia Audio Nodes.
