Harris has sold nine DMB 670 multimedia transmitters to French network operator and DAB/DMB equipment manufacturer VDL to support the imminent rollout of digital radio in the cities of Nice, Marseille and Paris. The transmitters, which meet all national DAB, DAB+ and DMB standards, will provide service to a wide array of leading French broadcasters. Additionally, the Harris transmitters were successfully tested for compatibility with VDL head-end equipment to support future joint international deployments of both technologies.
Premier systems integration firm Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS) recently completed the design, integration and installation of video production facilities at 950 KJR All-Sports Radio, a Clear Channel AM station in Seattle. The setup enables Comcast SportsNet (CSN) to televise a call-in radio show for Comcast cable customers in Seattle that is produced and delivered in HD.
RTP has successfully deployed Dalet Radio Suite HD to facilitate news and music program production at the main facility in Lisbon, Portugal, and their regional locations: Porto, Faro, Coimbra, Funchal, and Ponta Delgada. Dalet Radio Suite HD integrates the news and music production workflow across the six RTP locations, enabling all sites to better share content and produce programs.
In co-operation with Broadcast Warehouse, First Response has assembled an emergency kit that can work in all conditions and its small size allows it to be set up almost anywhere. The system is powered by a BW Broadcast TX600 FM transmitter. The latest tests have confirmed that within 5 days, First Response was able to set up a base and transmit up to 20km.
New York City public radio station WNYC has selected the Viewcast Niagara Go Stream Surf portable encoding system for the station's newly-opened Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. The Greene Space is a state-of-the-art, multi-media performance space and broadcast studio that presents live broadcasts and tapings of WNYC's signature programs. The Greene Space are webcast live and archived in real time in Adobe Flash formats via the Niagara Go Stream Surf.
Qantum Communications has chosen Marketron Broadcast Solutions to provide the primary business operating system for its radio stations. Qantum owns and operates 32 stations in various small and mid-sized markets. The group deal for Qantum includes Marketron business system software as well as the new Marketron Exchange e-commerce platform.
