Backyard Broadcasting expanded its existing Logitek system for the group's Elmira, NY, cluster, adding a JetStream and ROC 12. Also expanding an existing system were Colorado Public Radio, who added vMix to its existing system of four AE-32 engines and six Remora consoles. Also, KACU in Abilene, TX, added two Pilot-12 consoles to an existing JetStream system and KCUK in Chevak, AK, added two ROC-12s to its existing AE-32 system.
Clark Financial Group of Frisco, TX, delivers its message of retirement security and asset protection to listeners around the Dallas market via its weekly program on KAAM-AM, with Barix supporting remote contribution and bi-directional streaming. The system includes two Barix Exstreamer 500 IP audio devices.
HHB Communications has supplied Staffordshire University, Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Derby with multiple Yellowtec iXm digital recording microphones to support journalism programs. HHB originally supplied Staffordshire University with 21 iXms for its BJTC accredited flagship undergraduate and postgraduate courses in broadcast journalism. The school has since expanded its stock by an additional ten. Sheffield Hallam University purchased 21 iXms to replace recording devices that the students found too complicated.
Richland Towers and CBS Broadcasting are entering the final stages of an antenna upgrade project that will facilitate the advancement of mobile media broadcast throughout the Miami DMA. The project involves replacing the individual horizontally polarized antennas with a single broadband antenna manufactured by SPX Communication Technology that is elliptically polarized. Richland will also install an ERI Cogwheel FM radio broadband antenna. The FM antenna is slated for installation in late summer 2013 on the same candelabra tower. The dual input FM broadband facility will initially be home to two full-power FM stations, but it will have the capacity to accommodate up to ten additional full-power FM stations with 10dBc IBOC transmission.
