France-based VDL has supplied ensemble and SFN monitoring products to system integrator BTL - Broadcast Technology of Hong Kong, who were awarded the contract to build Hong Kong's DAB+ transmission network. VDL supplied a number of Single Frequency Network Synchronization Monitors (DAB Monitor SFN) that continually measure the offset timing of each transmitter to maintain integrity of coverage. VDL also supplied an off-air Ensemble Logger and Monitor (DABSTOR-Rx) that captures ETI files and also allows the network manager to play the audio and view, DLS text and Slideshows from all 18 DAB+ services simultaneously in real-time.
French manufacturer VDL has supplied its all-in-one Multiplexer D-VAUDAX to most of Germany's ARD consortium of public broadcasters as part of regional deployment of DAB+ networks. The complete head-end systems, comprising audio encoders, ensemble multiplexers, PAD servers, ETI switches and ETI monitors were supplied by VDL's partner AVT (Nuremberg, Germany), who also handled the installation, system integration and training.
