Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK), the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, has ordered Tascam HS-4000 4-track recorders for its broadcast facilities. In this fiscal year, the company will install 186 recorders with 86 of the RC-HS32PD remotes. NHK plans to install an additional 500 of the 4-track recorders over the next few years.
The National Football League's (NFL) Cleveland Browns and Skyview Networks inked a new multi-year broadcast software contract. Skyview, an integrated professional sports distribution company specializing in play-by-play broadcast systems, will provide its F.A.S.T. Inventory Management Software and Live Read Management Services to the Cleveland Browns. The partnership aims to increase control over advertiser scheduling and to streamline as-played reporting. The Cleveland Browns radio broadcast can be heard on WMMS-FM and its radio network of 21 affiliates.
Music City Roots: Live From The Loveless Cafe, Nashville's acclaimed weekly roots/Americana radio show, features technology facilitated by the NewTek TriCaster portable live production system. The system makes it possible for Music City Roots to simultaneously produce, live-stream, broadcast, project and record the show, which is filmed in HD.
