Sales Call for the Week of Oct 7 - Oct 13, 2010
KGMG-FM, a Journal Broadcast Group station serving the Tucson, AZ, market has placed an order for a Harris turnkey transmission and booster system. The complete package features a ZX1000 transmitter for the main facility and a Z-Series Z8HD+ for a new booster site. Harris will integrate FlexStar HDx exciters with dual outputs within each transmitter to enable HD Radio broadcasting in the future. The station will also add a new Intraplex NetXpress Audio over IP platform to act as the network-wide STL system, with frames at all three sites. Harris Intraplex SynchroCast3 modules will be added to each frame to synchronize the on-air signals at the main and booster sites. SynchroCast uses GPS timing references in combination with dynamic delay control to provide virtually seamless coverage throughout the Tucson market.
