Romandie Medial to Construct Second DAB+ Mux in Switzerland
Bern, Switzerland - Feb 21, 2013 - Switzerland's office of communication has issued a permit for Romandie Media to operate a second DAB+ network, according to an article in Bluewin.
In return Romandie must broadcast five programs including Radio Fribourg and Vertical Radio, as well as two from the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation. There will be as many as 13 additional channels in the DAB+ mux, and according to the Swiss Office of Communications, that can accommodate nearly all the private broadcasters in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
Romandie intends to build the new DAB+ network immediately, and to have it in service by the end of August 2013.
