US Navy Awards Tube Contract To Econco
Woodland, CA - Oct 29, 2001 - Econco received a $7.7M U.S. Navy contract to provide rebuilt power tubes for the AEGIS Weapon System. State-of-the-art Navy AEGIS ships employ power tubes to pulse powerful radars in the first fully integrated radar and missile defense system developed.
In addition, the U.S. Navy recently presented Econco with a second Award for Excellence for support to the AEGIS Weapon System. Econco was first honored for producing rebuilt tubes with 30% longer life than production tubes.
Econco has delivered long life vacuum tubes to the broadcast and industrial markets worldwide since 1969.
