TRALEE, IRELAND—Radio Kerry, an Ireland-based radio broadcast station, has chosen Mirror Image, a dynamic delivery network that enables global organizations to deliver content, to stream live audio news broadcasting streams.
Mirror Image’s audio streaming service enables Radio Kerry to broadcast high quality live audio streams at all the supported bitrates anywhere in the world using the HTTP protocol over Mirror Image’s Dynamic Delivery Network. Listeners can connect to its MP3 streams with all the popular media players. Mirror Image also delivers the audio streaming for Radio Kerry’s iPhone app.
“Radio Kerry required a reliable audio streaming partner that could provide the performance and scalability to meet increasing traffic demands from our 84,000+ daily listeners, which recently surpassed 5.5 terabytes,” said the station’s Engineering and IT Manager Trevor Galvin. “Mirror Image’s audio streaming service provides Radio Kerry with secure and reliable audio distribution and ad insertion capabilities for delivering uninterrupted live music and news broadcasts to a wide variety of mobile devices and tablets in Ireland and beyond.”
Radio Kerry was established in 1990. The station headquarters are in Tralee, the county town of Kerry, with additional studios in Killarney and Cahersiveen.
