Pioneer Adds More Aftermarket DAB+ Infotainment Systems
Jan 28, 2013 - Pioneer has introduced two new automotive infotainment systems that feature DAB+. The DEH-X8500DAB features a built-in DAB+ tuner; however the user can also connect to an iPod, and iPhone, or an Android phone via USB. This unit has a pause feature that allows the user to stop and rewind the digital radio audio as necessary -- during phone calls, for example, or to check song titles, or to simply play a song over again. The unit is Bluetooth-enabled, so the user can make hands-free telephone calls, or stream audio from compatible devices. The DEH-X8500DAB includes a four-way 50W amplifier, but also includes RCA outs to accommodate other amplifiers. It also features a built-in CD player.
The AVX-H3500DAB features a 6.1" touch-screen for control, configurable to the user's taste. In addition to the built-in DAB+ tuner with a pause feature, the user can play DVDs, CDs, MP3, WMA, WAV, and AAC-formatted files via a built-in USB port. It has integrated Bluetooth, allowing the user to make hands-free calls, and to stream audio from compatible devices.
