Nautel Unveils TV Transmitters
Hackett's Cove, NS - Aug 29, 2012 - Nautel is bringing its digital transmission experience to TV. Nautel will initially focus its efforts on the 2W to 100W UHF power range and will support worldwide digital transmission standards. The company's first product, the NT100, will be introduced at the 2012 IBC show and will anchor the NT Series of low power TV transmitters.
According to Nautel, its customers have been asking the company to manufacture TV transmitters. Peter Conlon, Nautel president and CEO, says the company was "waiting for the right time to enter."
Nautel traces its roots back four decades to its first broadcast solid-state transmitter. Nautel management says entering TV is a natural progression for the company, which has been focused on serving broadcasters large and small. Chuck Kelly, Nautel director of sales, will head the TV initiative.
Nautel will show its first product at the 2012 IBC show and the US unveiling will follow later this fall.
