Geneva Intros XXL with FM, DAB/DAB+

Nov 25, 2013 - 30 years ago it was commonplace to see an FM receiver, turntable and large speakers in a typical living room. Those days seem long gone -- but are they really? Not if you were to acquire the Geneva XXL. This console sound system seems to be very much a throwback to those days.

Geneva Labs XXL

The XXL is basically a large piece of furniture, built to accommodate a 65" flat-screen TV. However, it's much more than that, since it has a built-in sound system with six speakers and a sub-woofer (capable of nearly 600 W total). As a broadcaster, I'm glad to know it has its own built-in FM, DAB/DAB+ (and even DMB) tuner with RDS capability, and an external antenna input.

Since this is a modern entertainment system, it also includes the various items you'd expect in 2013: Apple Airplay, which can connect via Wi-fi or Ethernet; Bluetooth with A2DP capability; two analog input pairs; one digital audio input; two HDMI inputs, and one HDMI output.

According to Geneva's website, the XXL will be available at the end of 2013 and it won't come cheap: MSRP is $3,499.
