Peter Doyle Appointed VP of Broadcasters Foundation of America
New York - Oct 24, 2013 - The Broadcasters Foundation of America has appointed Peter Doyle to the position of vice president. Doyle will share responsibility for planning and executing the Foundation's fundraising events and assisting in the overall fundraising and outreach efforts with Jim Thompson, president of the Broadcasters Foundation. Doyle is known in broadcasting for his leadership of McGavren Guild, and subsequently other Interep initiatives, for more than 30 years.
The mission of the Broadcasters Foundation of America is to improve the quality of life and maintain the personal dignity of men and women in the radio and television broadcast profession who find themselves in acute need. The Foundation reaches out across the country to identify and provide an anonymous safety net in cases of critical illness, advanced age, death of a spouse, accident, and other serious misfortune. The Broadcasters Foundation of America is a 501(c)3 public charity.
The Broadcasters Foundation has provided millions of dollars in aid to colleagues who lost their livelihood through a catastrophic event, debilitating disease, or unforeseen family tragedy. Individual membership is $150 a year. Donations also can be made to the Guardian Fund, and corporate contributions are accepted through the Angel Initiative.
