Las Vegas - Apr 12, 2012 - Society of Broadcast Engineers President Ralph Hogan, CPBE DRB CBNT, appointed two members of the SBE Board of Directors to lead two essential programs of the SBE.

Charles "Ched" Keiler, CPBE 8-VSB CBNT, has been appointed chairman of the SBE Government Relations Committee. The committee is responsible for developing and carrying out the advocacy efforts of the SBE. The SBE interacts with the FCC, other federal agencies and Congress on regulatory and legislative issues that have an impact on the broadcast engineering community. Keiler is the vice president of engineering for Georgia Public Television.

Paul Burnham, CPBE, has been named the chairman of the new Mentor Subcommittee of the SBE. Operating under the society's Education Committee, the Mentor Subcommittee will develop and implement the new SBE Mentor Program announced earlier this year by Hogan. The new program seeks to enhance the professional development of younger engineers in the broadcast industry by creating mentor relationships with more experienced engineers. Burnham is field support manager for E2V.

Both appointments were approved by the SBE Board of Directors at its meeting on April 15, 2012, held during the 2012 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
