John George Joins Broadcast Connection
Colorado Springs, CO - Mar 8, 2010 - John George has joined equipment supplier Broadcast Connection as a representative of its line of RF equipment. George will be concentrating his efforts on the southeast and middle Atlantic states to provide a wide range of products including transmitters, antennas, transmission line and related equipment for AM and FM broadcasters. He will continue to offer Dielectric FM antennas and systems.
George has more than 40 years of experience in the broadcasting industry. He began his career as a disc jockey, then progressed through programming, sales, engineering and station ownership. For the past 15 years he has worked in sales for Harris, Dielectric Communications and LBA Technology. He also provides technical services for radio stations in South Carolina.
George was responsible for the HD Radio upgrade of WUSC-FM, the University of South Carolina's student radio station, in 2007 along with providing assistance to numerous other stations with their HD Radio upgrades. He is co-chairman of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Engineering Committee and serves as chairman of the S.C. Emergency Communications Committee that oversees the Emergency Alert System. He spearheaded the development of the SCBA's Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program and serves as a technical consultant for the S.C. AMBER Alert program. He is a member of IEEE and the SBE.
