Jeff Smith Named Chief Engineer of Merlin New York
New York - Mar 29, 2012 - After five years as the supervisor of studio systems for Clear Channel New York, Jeff Smith, CSRE, has taken on the role as chief engineer for Merlin Media's New York station WEMP 101.9.He will be responsible for all technical operations including build a new facility.
Smith has nearly 20 years of broadcast engineering experience, having also worked for Greater Media, Metro Networks, Nassau Broadcasting and Sirius Satellite Radio.
Smith served on the Society of Broadcast Engineers board of directors from 2007 to 2011. He is currently chairman of SBE chapter 15 in New York. He is an adjunct professor at Monmouth University, a position he has held since2007.
